Four Seasons Abu Dhabi Al-Maryah Island[Full 2025 Review]

The Four Seasons Al Mariyah Island delivers exceptional urban luxury with outstanding breakfast, phenomenal spa facilities, and service that goes over the top at every turn.

The Four Seasons Al Mariyah Island represents the brand's urban luxury approach in Abu Dhabi. This isn't a sprawling resort property. It's a modern city hotel attached to the Galleria mall with easy access to ADGM.

I stayed here after experiencing the Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal, curious to see how Four Seasons would compare in the Abu Dhabi luxury market. The property promised the consistent Four Seasons experience I've come to expect from the brand.

I booked a Premier room through The Edit by Chase and was upgraded to a Deluxe room upon arrival. The $100 property credit gave me a chance to experience Cafe Milano, their Italian restaurant, while breakfast at Crust showcased why Four Seasons breakfasts are always a highlight.

The third-floor amenities—spa, pool, and gym—offered genuine relaxation options rather than token hotel facilities. And thanks to a booking issue that led to correspondence with the hotel, I got an unexpected tour of the Royal Suite.

Here's my complete review of the Four Seasons Al Mariyah Island and whether it delivers the Four Seasons standard in Abu Dhabi.

The Room

I booked a Premier room and was upgraded to a Deluxe room upon arrival thanks to booking with The Edit by Chase. More on that below.

The room, while simple, did exactly what it needed to do. Spacious but not too spacious, making very efficient use of the space.

When you first walk in, there were two closets on the left side. Not only plenty of space, but also large enough to hold my rollaboard checked bag while open. I didn't even need a luggage stand.

On the right side was the entry to the bathroom with a dual sink vanity and large mirror with built-in TV.

There was also a large soaking tub.

A dedicated frosted-glass enclosed toilet room featured a traditional bidet. The rainfall shower had its own room.

The bathroom featured products from Frederic Malle with the scent Eau de Magnolia.

Moving into the main living area, there was a desk with two desk chairs and a TV on the wall opposite the bed. Plenty of outlets throughout.

Atop the desk area was a mini bar with coffee, tea, and a coffee machine.

Across from the desk was the perfectly comfortable king bed. At the foot of the bed was a little couch.

On either side of the bed were control panels for the lights, intuitive to use.

Finally, there were three large floor-to-ceiling glass-paned windows. The curtains weren't motorized, but the windows were spotless.

So spotless that I knocked my head into one of them when trying to look out the window.

The Property

There's a lot to like about the property. It definitely better resembles an urban Four Seasons property instead of a resort. It's conveniently located near ADGM.

For starters, it's attached to the Galleria mall. You can go shopping and find a bite to eat, or dessert in my case, without ever stepping foot outside.

The lobby is beautifully modern and stocked with beautiful flowers.

There's also a spa, which I'm a sucker for. Guests have access to the spa, open from 9:30 AM to 10 PM.

Inside the spa area are lockers, a hammam, dry sauna, rejuvenation pool, and heated tile relaxation chairs. There was also an open free-standing ice maker you're supposed to use to cool off after the sauna or hammam.

Also on the third floor is an outdoor pool with phenomenal views of Abu Dhabi from the slightly-offset Al Mariyah Island location. I spent my evening relaxing here watching the sunset.

There's also a pool bar where you can order food and beverages.

Additionally, on the third floor is a gym with locker rooms separate from the spa locker rooms.

Food & Beverage

As always, a Four Seasons property never disappoints, especially on breakfast.

Cafe Milano

Before we get to breakfast, I'd been tired of steakhouses from various recent stays and First Class lounges like Al Safwa and The Forge at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal. Instead of going to the steakhouse at the Four Seasons, I decided to try the Italian restaurant: Cafe Milano.

I had to use my $100 property credit from The Edit, so I went to Cafe Milano. Absolutely delicious.

I started with the Burrata appetizer and got the Spaghetti Gucci as my main. Everything was absolutely delicious, and I certainly filled up.

If I were paying out of pocket, it was a bit expensive. $100 for just the appetizer and main course, no drinks or dessert.

Breakfast at Crust

The breakfast, as with every Four Seasons I've been to, is always a highlight. I'm a sucker for good hotel breakfasts, and this wasn't just good, it was excellent.

When you have breakfast included in the room, you'll want to go to the restaurant Crust, located on the second floor. Breakfast is served daily from 6:30 AM to 11 AM.

You get access to a full buffet with items like pastries, cereals, fruits, and more. Plus, you can order whatever you want off the a-la-carte menu, which includes things like French toast, eggs, pancakes, and more.

Needless to say, everything was spectacular. Everything I dream of in a hotel breakfast.

The Service

The service at this property was on par with a Four Seasons property—remarkable.

At every turn, there were staff members asking how they could help. In many cases, I felt like the service was over the top.

The Royal Suite

I had an issue when booking, so I emailed the hotel with my IATA number. They saw that I was an IATA agent and offered a property tour of the Royal Suite at the Four Seasons Al Mariyah Island.

I most certainly couldn't resist a tour.

Booking

I booked this originally as a two night stay using my The Edit credit on my Chase Sapphrie Reserve for Business card. When booking through The Edit by Chase Travel, you have access to the following benefits:

  • Daily breakfast for two
  • $100 Property Credit
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • A room upgrade at select properties (when available)
  • 12-PM early check-in and 4:00 PM late checkout (subject to availability)

I originally booked a two night stay, and unfortunatley about a week before arrival, I had to leave Abu Dhabi a day earlier than planned. So, I went online to see if it would be cheaper if I cancelled and rebooked, and low and behold it was 2x the price for just the one night stay. So I called Chase Travel, and they were able to coordinate wth the property to modify the reservation to a one night stay.

While I wasn't sure if I'd get the benefits, it did indeed come with all of the The Edit benefits that you'd have hoped for.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve (and for Business) comes with $250 semi-annual credit on stays at Chase The Edit, when you book a stay of two nights or more. Plus, this was the first travel transaction on my card, so it also used up my $300 Annual Travel Credit benefit, bringing my total "discount" to $550. The one night room cost me $450, and I'd expect my The Edit credit to get clawed back, although, as of writing, it hasn't.

Final Thoughts

The Four Seasons Al Mariyah Island is exactly what you'd expect from an urban Four Seasons property, and that's high praise.

The room made efficient use of space without feeling cramped. Closets large enough to hold an open rollaboard, dual sink vanity with built-in TV, separate rooms for toilet and shower, and Frederic Malle Eau de Magnolia products throughout. The windows were so spotless I literally knocked my head into one trying to look outside.

The third-floor amenities were exceptional. The spa with hammam, dry sauna, rejuvenation pool, heated relaxation chairs, and ice maker for cooling off delivered a complete wellness experience. The outdoor pool with Abu Dhabi views was perfect for watching sunset. Having all of this open until 10 PM meant you could actually use these facilities rather than finding them closed when you return from dinner.

Breakfast at Crust was everything I dream of in a hotel breakfast. Full buffet plus unlimited a-la-carte ordering meant French toast, eggs, pancakes, pastries, and more. Spectacular execution on everything. This is why Four Seasons breakfasts are always a highlight.

Cafe Milano delivered excellent Italian food with the Burrata appetizer and Spaghetti Gucci both absolutely delicious. At $100 for appetizer and main without drinks or dessert, it's pricey if paying out of pocket. But using The Edit property credit made it perfect.

The service was remarkable and often felt over the top. Staff members at every turn asking how they could help. This is Four Seasons service at its finest.

Being attached to the Galleria mall added genuine convenience. Shopping and dining without stepping outside in Abu Dhabi's oppressive heat is a practical advantage.

The property delivers urban Four Seasons luxury exactly as expected. Efficient rooms, exceptional amenities, outstanding breakfast, and service that genuinely cares about your experience.

Compared to the Ritz-Carlton Grand Canal at $300 per night, the Four Seasons at a similar price point through The Edit delivered a noticeably superior experience. More modern rooms, better amenities, and that consistent Four Seasons excellence throughout.

If you're staying in Abu Dhabi and want urban luxury with easy access to the city rather than a resort experience, the Four Seasons Al Mariyah Island is the clear choice. This is Four Seasons doing what Four Seasons does best.
