Boasting a prime location near the excitement of Broadway and the soul of Nashville, the Kimpton Aertson Hotel is a chic boutique oasis where southern hospitality meets modern luxury. Read on to see what we think.
Nashville is one of my favorite weekend getaway spots, and on a recent guys trip I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel. If Music City is on your travel radar, I can't recommend this charming boutique property enough.
The location is truly ideal. While the hotel is located on Broadway (which is the famous street known for all the bars and nightlife), it's situated far enough back from the 'madness' where it's not too noisy. While the main drag of Broadway is about a 5-minute Uber away (which you could likely walk during the warmer months, but we traveled in February, and it was a bit cold to walk), there are plenty of bars within a block or two if you're just looking to get outside and grab a drink.
From the minute we walked into the art deco-inspired lobby, the staff's southern hospitality and the property's funky decor had me grinning from ear to ear. Checking in was a breeze - the front desk associate was so friendly, attentive, and helpful, perfectly epitomizing the vibe Kimpton hotels are so famous for.
Kimpton is my favorite brand in the IHG portfolio, they have this fun "secret password" program at check-in. Say the right phrase, and you'll score some complimentary perks or credits to use at the hotel's amenities. On this trip, uttering the magic words, "Chalet All Day" scored us a free bottle of red wine! Who doesn't love feeling like a VIP? It was an unexpected treat and lovely gesture that kicked off our girls' weekend in style. (Pro Tip: If you want to find the current Kimpton Secret Password a quick Google Search can help).
Our room continued the chic, funky aesthetic. The decor was glamorous but playful, with vibrant accent pillows and framed photos of Nashville musicians. We chose a Two-Queen Premium room to have more space to spread out, which proved to be a smart decision. Our room was a corner-room and featured a Juliet Balcony.
Our room was incredibly spacious. Ours felt downright palatial compared to your average hotel room. The pièce de ré·sis·tance was the bathroom, which featured a walk-in shower that might just be the largest shower I've ever seen.
As lovely as the room was, we didn't spend much time in it because we were eager to explore Nashville! When we did grab breakfast at the hotel's southern-inspired restaurant The Henley, which was a highlight of the stay. The food was great yet inventive (yes, I followed the advice to order the Southern Scramble and it did not disappoint!) and the atmosphere so lively, thanks to a live music performance from the hotel's Musicians in Residence, Full Circle Nashville. What better way to start a day in Music City?
If you're looking for a hotel where you can stumble in after one too many margaritas on Lower Broadway, Kimpton Aertson may not be the best fit. But if you want to truly experience Nashville's soul - the music, culture, cuisine and southern charm - with a side of chic boutique luxury, this hotel is hard to beat.
Rates were very reasonable, starting around $200/night. Since Kimpton is a part of the IHG OneRewards program, you can use your IHG points for a stay here. Nights started at about 40,000 IHG Points per night, which is perfect if you also have the IHG Premier Card (which gives you a free night certificate once per year worth up to 40,000 points). I used one of my IHG free night certificates to cover a night, making this stay highly affordable. When I consider the top-notch amenities, service, location, and overall vibe, this hotel exceeded my expectations, especially at this price point.
I truly had a wonderful experience at the Kimpton Aertson Hotel - the friendly staff, cheeky decor, fantastic freebies, and primo location in the heart of Nashville. No matter why you're visiting Music City, this boutique property will elevate your experience. I hope this gives you a helpful first-hand look so you can decide if it's the right fit for your upcoming Nashville trip! Let me know if any other questions come up as you plan your visit.
